It may be a little pricey but it's also well worth it. If you want to try the exotics they have raindeer meatballs, red deer, elk meatloaf, and Alaskan king crab. All of it is excellent. The ambiance of the historic pump house is kind of neat too. I love this place! We visit the Pumphouse on special occasions and also for the Sunday brunch. Food and service are both good. The building dates from the gold rush era when pumps delivered water to a gold field over a nearby hill. The mining is gone but the building was converted to a restaurant and bar. The place is now on the national register. It is especially fun to sit outside and watch the river traffic. It is a classy place, well worth the price both for food and history. Recommended. The food and service is good although they do get very busy when a tour bus visits. Their Sunday brunches are the best in town. I also enjoy appetizers and beverages in their comfortable bar area. It's one place where locals simply must take visitors any time of year. The Pump House is a pretty decent bar/grill in Fairbanks. The prices are are on par for Alaska (meaning it's a bit pricey), but the experience is worth the cost. It's a cool place to sit outside on the deck under the midnight sun drinking a beer. They serve a very diverse menu, I recommend the elk meatloaf or chicken denali. There's a good selection of beer and spirits for any palate. If you get the chance, sit outside and enjoy the view on the Chena river. It's awesome. The location has historic significance related to the gold rush days, and the decor reflects it. Our server was friendly, informative, attentive, and accommodating. I would recommend stopping by and trying it. It's worth the wait and the cost. Everyone in Fairbanks kept suggesting this restaurant and it's easy to see why! Upscale food with a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. The wait staff was friendly, the food was incredible, and the ambiance was lovely. Would recommend to anyone in the area!
