  Straight Ahead Construction does a great job! Mike and his crew are very hard working, courteous, and experienced. We truly enjoyed having them working on our home - after so many weeks they were almost like family. Most importantly, they did a great job of working with us. Mike agreed to meet with us even though he had a nearly full schedule. We had a fairly large remodel planned and Mike listened carefully to our needs. He found a way to make our plans work on our timeline, when other contractors turned us down. He gave us realistic estimates for the work, his crew was always on time and cleaned up every day before they went home. When changes needed to be made, we discussed options and knew the costs before moving forward. The end result was a beautiful new kitchen, dining room, master bedroom, master bath and much more, completed on time. We look forward to having them back soon to complete the rest of our remodel plans. Original siding was T&G Clear Douglas Fir, applied directly to the balloon framed construction, which over the years had seriously deteriorated. Straight Ahead, took on this project, removed the old siding, (and sawdust insulation, installed new foam insulation, replaced several windows, and installed new cedar T&G siding matching the original profiles, assisted with correction of deficiencies found during demolition. Great job, wonderful communications, great crew. on time and on budget. Was a fun project, and we are very happy. We hired Straight Ahead Construction to do some renovations on a home we just purchased in Fairbanks. Mike was in touch with us from day one, he had excellent suggestions on design and local materials usage which we were really grateful for, and which looked great in the finished home. We had a variety of work done, flooring, painting, electrical, and the work was top notch, we were super satisfied with our home, it really has a great first impression now. It was dated and in need of some love, but it really got brought forward about 50 years. I think most importantly though for us, beyond local and natural material incorporation into a fine finished look, was the fact that the team at Straight Ahead was really easy to communicate with and when they said "this will get done on ______ day" it was done on that day and it looked great. Our bamboo floor looks awesome, the paint and light fixtures really shine, and later we called for a plumbing reference to get some work done in that area, and the guy they recommended did a great job. It can be stressful to put your home in someone else's hands,but we really wanted a professional look and that's what we got with Mike and Straight Ahead. If we need anything else renovated or built we hope they'll have room on their calendar for us as they've gotten pretty busy! They're good dudes. Last spring I discovered some wood rot at the base of the wall in my garage. I contacted several contractors to get quotes on the repair. After contacting Straight Ahead Construction, Mike came out the following day and gave me a thorough assessment of what needed to be done and assured me my garage wasn’t going to fall in on it’s self before repairs could be made. So with that information I took my time and got several quotes. I decided to go with Straight Ahead as Mike seamed very knowledgeable and honest. When I let Mike know I wanted him to do the work he informed me what his schedule was like and when he could start work. When his team arrived I was happy to see how quickly they went to work. There seemed to be a good game plan, and their work was well orchestrated. I was very pleased with the level of professionalism and good communication throughout the process. The work was finished in less time than originally predicted and ended up costing less than the original estimate. Over all I couldn’t be happier with the work done and I would highly recommend Straight Ahead Construction to anyone looking for honest quality work.
