Awesome club. One of my favorites since moving to Alaska in 2002...I like the eclectic "now" scene. Great crowd. The High Levels had a great time playing for ya'll! The Marlin unusually has great live music on the weekend. There is a $5 cover on weekends to get in but it's usually well worth it. The area where the bands play is pretty small and can get crowded. The upstairs area is usually much more spacious. Another thing to keep in mind is they only accept cash after 10pm, but they do have an ATM on site. The music is really what makes the Marlin worth going to. Sometimes they have AWESOME bands, but how very tiny and cramped it is(dance floor is mayb 20-30 squ. ft), combined with a TOTAL lack of Feng-Shui, makes this spot just a musty hole-in-the-wall to me. This is an old building, not handicap accessible, at all. Decent drinks at an okay prices with a variety of live music performances that are the big draw. Hippy college bar bohemian vibe.
