Dr. Cave and her assistant, staff are excellent. Dr. Cave explains things thoroughly and her work impeccable. The atmosphere in her office is very friendly and respectful. You're not just a dollar sign, you're treated like family. She's currently fixing a problem another dentist in Fairbanks did. I will go back to her for other work from now on. WORST OFFICE STAFF/SCAMMERS - I went to Cave Dental in 2015 for my first cleaning. Experience was fine. Nothing exceptional. Nothing horrible. Middle of the road experience. I changed jobs and got new insurance. I called before making another appointment asking if they accepted my insurance the answer was yet so I made an appointment on 2/24/16 for my basic, yearly cleaning. Went in, had the appointment, they took pictures, got my teeth clean. Done. On 2.17.17 I got an email asking to call their office regarding a past due bill. In the email the writer said she "When we call your insurance, the insurance stated your medical insurance was primary but we show was terminated on 1/31/2015 unless you have a different insurance? Your secondary insurance would not provide us with this information" Then attached was a copy of my old insurance card with a copy of my new SECONDARY insurance card. I responded back with the copy of my secondary insurance is the valid but that my medical insurance pays for my cleanings. Then I stated with the fact they billed the insurance and it came back with the cancellation date of 1/2015 tells me they didn't bill the correct insurance. I also responded with don't send my insurance cards through email, it's personal information. So I then faxed in BOTH of my correct insurance cards. Heard nothing. A couple weeks after that I emailed back with the fact that I got a bill and did they receive the insurance cards and did they submit the claim to the insurance? I got a response a week later with "Thank you for the fax and providing us with the other insurance card that we did not have. I have sent your information to the other insurance, I am not sure if they will pay because most insurance companies have a 1 year filing time frame and your appointment was on 2/24/2016. Thank you, Andreea K". I never heard another thing on this UNTIL 6/27/2017 I got a collection letter for the full balance of this basic cleaning I received. I called my medical insurance company (since they are primary for cleaning) first thing this morning - 6.28.17 - provided the name of the dental office, the date I was seen and was told they haven't submitted ANYTHING for payment. She searched the entire year of 2016 just to see if the date wasn't exact. Nothing came up. She searched by the dental practice name - verified they are in fact in network with my medical insurance company and that my dental insurance was secondary. She said they have until 12.31.17 to submit a claim for my appointment in 2016. I then called Cave Dental and asked to speak with an office manager. The receptionist Andreea said she could help me. I told her I got a collection letter and that this should have been taken care of. She said she submitted to the insurance. I said no you didn't. I just talked to them. They have nothing from you. She said well you didn't give us the right insurance at the time of your cleaning. I said yes I did! She said no you didn't so I'm not refilling a claim. I hung up on her. I'm beyond baffled by this. This is SCAMMER behavior. Is she just lazy and doesn't want to do her job correctly? She doesn't want to admit she screwed up and didn't do her job? What is it? ABSURED! I have been to three (3) different dentists in the past six (6) months in Fairbanks, AK. There were all either rude and rushing through the procedure or they were cutting me off and not listening and I can honestly write that this dentist left me an absolutely the best impression I have ever had about a dentist. When I walked in to Dr. Cave's office, I immediately felt at home. It was probably because the office reminds me of a house. Moreover, I was immediately welcomed with a smile from Andrea who's at the front desk. She explained the forms to me and I filled them out on her iPad because the office is fully electronic and modern. Then, Andrea took a picture of me and I was seen by the dental assistant immediately. No wait time. The dental assistant was very pleasant and easy to talk to. Finally, Dr. Cave came in with all smiles and jokes. Her and the dental assistant kept cracking jokes during the whole procedure making me feel comfortable and at ease. I kept laughing which probably interrupted the procedure but I had lots of fun. Dr. Cave listened to my dentist-related life stories and was just so kind and warm hearted. I loved it the most that I was never left alone. There was always a dental assistant or Dr. Cave with me in the room which made me feel welcomed and at ease. They even asked me to pick the music for the office cause they have Pandora. I liked whatever music they were already playing. In short, I absolutely loved my whole experience at Dr. Cave's dental office and will definitely go back there in a heart beat when in need of dental work.
