I do not know what the food tasted like, the place has more smoke in it than a cheap bar. If you can brave the cold outside, it may be tolerable, but the wind was up and it was too cold for that (at least as a tourist). If you do not smoke and eat inside, I hope you like your steak smoked over camels or marlboros, as this is all you will be able to taste -- the good news is, you can order anything at all to get this wonderful flavor. As a 20 year resident of Fairbanks I thought I was safe making a reservation for dinner after my son's high school graduation for our family and friends. To my dismay, the service was the poorest I have ever experienced -- slow, forgetful, inattentive, clumsy. The food was good, but requests for salad dressing and beverages were forgotten, drinks were spilled, and we had to eventually get up and walk out to get our check. I had expected much more from Pike's -- remembering the good old days of tacos on the riverbank. Please train your wait staff!!
