This place is full of history. Lots of thought and attention to detail went into this museum. The cars are in pristine condition! You can watch the mechanics work on cars. They also have clothing displayed with the cars and bikes. Very clean. Music playing is also of the time period of the cars. It had a lot of really cool cars you don't usually see. And the vintage clothes were wonderful!!! Fantastic place to visit in Fairbanks. My family visited Fountainhead Auto Museum on a whim while we were passing through Fairbanks. Am I glad we did. Sometimes you find the most interesting collections in the most obscure places. This Museum is clean and impeccably maintained. One of the best I have seen. Borderline white-glove! Not to mention all of the cars actually RUN and they drive them too. There is a small shop on-site where they perform maintenance and restorations. It has windows so you can watch. That too is very nicely kept. My wife and daughter loved the museum too. It was a very interesting twist for them to put manikins with era specific clothing by many of the cars. My wife took more photos than I did. That wasn't easy. Lol. The cars were outstanding but two displays in particular resonated for me. A spark plug display and a map of USA car makes dating back to the beginning. It was so interesting. I wish I could buy a poster of it for my garage. This is possibly the best transportation museum I have ever been to, and I am not a car guy at all. There are so many amazing vehicles, some of which you can only see here. There are descriptive panels, photographs and movies. There's even a dress up station where you can wear period clothing and sit in a vintage car! The clothing on display is fantastic and in amazing condition. I think it's definitely worth a visit if you're coming to Fairbanks. (We were just going in for a quick look and we stayed for 2 hours!) Wish I could drive away with one! Beautifully maintained. Every car is pre WW-2 era, American made, and in a perfect working condition. A couple of cars from eighteenth century are on display too.
