Everyone here was very friendly. Camille was amazing! Very friendly and very enthusiastic. She was just as excited as the guests when the Aurora came out. It looks rustic on the outside (which I love!) and it is very cozy on the inside. No need to travel to see the Aurora. They inform you when the Aurora begins, you can step outside to watch and when you get cold warm up with coffee or hot chocolate then step back out. Camille watches the Weather Service website to tell you when the upcoming spikes will be. Couldn't be easier. I am here right now! It is a such great place that you can stay in comfortable and wait for the Aurora. Mushers cabin is so wonderful! I love here! A photo I took for the musher cabin. Great lake and sky view. Good breakfast brought to room. Rough dirt road to get to so may need 4-wheel drive in winter. Clean warm rooms. 15 min drive to Denali entrance. We had the Alpine Room. Good service. Needed a place to overnight after a long work week. Photos showed a rustic cozy place. Little did we know the transport from Fairbanks to the lodge and back would top$100 and that the rooms shared bathrooms. They are also missing basics such as a clock/alarm, dresser/desk, phone and or tv/radio. The breakfast hours are only friendly if you are not leaving before 11am. The walls are paper thin and it is difficult to find employees when you need them. The owner is friendly but overall a very poor value. Very disappointed This lodge is one of the coolest places I've stayed. It feels like you're going out into the middle of nowhere but that's the best part. Such a cool place inside and out.
