The Fairbanks location and great. It is conveniently placed in downtown and overlooking the river. The rooms are well maintained and provide all the basic necessities a hotel should have. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to make sure your stay is pleasant. Overall, the Springhill is a great hotel to stay in. Any time I am back in Fairbanks, the Marriott will be on the top of my list. Nice hotel. Good breakfast included. Good facilities. Very friendly staff. Central downtown location. Good experience Reasonably nice inside. Clean rooms. Updated decor. Free (see note below) pickup and delivery to and from train station and airport. Loses points on amenities and service. We waited almost an hour for a pickup from the train station. And when we went to leave we had to take a taxi (though the hotel picked up the charge), since they had no shuttle driver. The laundry was way too small for the size of the hotel. We waited hours to get in line and through the process. This hotel's parking is limited and you must find a parking spot when the two lots provided are full. People parked in the fire lane after driving around looking for somewhere to park. Small cars, large cars it doesnt matter. These people aren't concerned about anything. The lie about amenities apologize when you ask about them. Just usually rude. It was clean. Nice rooms and good views on the river side. Breakfast is usually pretty decent. The restaurant is expensive but really good. Parking can be limited and sometimes you have to park on the next block. Unfortunately, fairly often, there are homeless people who wait in the parking lot and harass guests at their cars and as they enter the hotel. Also, there are lots of people that hang out at the small park/statue by the river at all hours of the night and it can get noisy.
