Pros: It's a bed. Cons: It's dirty! Chairs all have very questionable stains, beds have all to unquestionable stains. Bathroom door has a hole in it. No hand soap. Laundry room is mostly out of order. Ok for the price. Not super nice but not super rundown either. New management seems to be making improvements and apparently is remodeling the majority of the rooms here. So far, the changes have been a considerable upgrade from the way it's been for quite a while now. Good job on the improvements. Out of necessity, had to spend two nights here. I understand that interior Alaska doesn't offer fancy accommodations, and this place lives up to that. The room was extremely dated and smelled horrible; it was doused in odor neutralizer to try to mask the cigarette smell. Nasty. The TV did not work either. Once the summer tourist season hits, the rates here are absurd for the accommodations you get. Oh yes, the breakfast is pretty sad. The coffee is tasteless, and the only edible items (to me) were the apples. My advice is this: if you're coming to Fairbanks, look for hotels six months in advance. If you get stuck here, you'll overpay for a crappy bed,crappy room, and crappy experience. The staff was cool, and it's right on Airport, which is one of the main roads through town. If you can at all help it, find a different place to stay, unless you don't mind overpaying for a bad experience in an unclean room. You'd be better off buying a tent and camping in walmart's parking lot. Decent for the price I guess but..... The beds and rooms seemed clean, the hallways and stairwells... Not so much. The breakfast, that was included, consisted of unfrozen frozen waffles, coffee, bread, cereal and a toaster. It will fill you up but that's about it. Very dirty place. Bare wires and no cap on thermostat. Noise was bad.
