Westmark Fairbanks was a really nice hotel. The rooms are clean and nice. We had a nice view of the city from the 8th floor. The staff and front desk are very nice and helpful. Came for a few days. The breakfast didn't have many options but it was overall a great experience, would recommend staying here during your next visit... Westmark has the best employees, they make you feel like your right at home and they are super friendly! The rooms are super clean and cozy. Great views from the 8th floor. They have breakfast which is convenient. Loved this place, can't wait to go back! Great stay here. Enjoyed everything about it. The auto museum next door has an awesome collection. Highly recommend both places. Mark from NZ. ... you're in Fairbanks, Alaska... this is certainly better than anticipated. Roomy rooms. Absolutely horrible views. Downtown Fairbanks is simply a continuous reclamation project. Newish hotels, banks in the midst of crumbling single family homes and horrible destitute mom & pop shops. The bar and restaurant on the first floor are decent enough considering. Rooms need updating. Stained and lifting carpet in rooms and hallways. Hotel did not let visitors know the water would be shut off to the the rooms for the whole day until late evening the night before and even then only posted it in a few public areas. If you went right to your room you had no idea. Restaurant servers lack basic wait staff skills. Even front end staff are not knowledgeable. When asked about viewing the Aurora, the woman looked outside and said "there are no clouds". I said "I think it is overcast because I can't see any stars" She replied "there are no stars here". Ugh, she was one of the many non locals they hired who was clueless to the basics. We were very disappointed in this Westmark hotel.
