As a carver I find wandering thru the ice park a wonderful experience. The variety of abstract and realistic sculptures in both competitions is great. The kids ice play park is great for kids of all ages. They had classes for new carvers who can then create a sculpture of their own. A must see experience! Bought tickets on line, only they didn't download as it was indicated they would. Called the ice park phone number and the people there were less than helpful and had a "why are you bothering me" attitude. Said they thought that tickets were not being sold on line anymore, yet my bank account showed a charge. Suggested I challenge the charge at the bank which involves much time and paperwork. Finally, reached a ticket taker and they said just bring in the receipt and that would be fine. Come at night when the lights bring the sculptures to life. Interesting. Freezing...dress warmly to get good photos. Worth checking out. It would have been nice if snow was brushed off some of the older sculptures. When you're visiting Alaska during winter there's not really much to see in Fairbanks during the day apart from Chena hot springs and this place. The sculptures were beautiful, but like another person pointed out - the creators weren't clearly indicated. They can make the exhibits more engaging by giving credit to who made them and providing a bio etc. Fun place when they have the ice sculptures going. Building are outdated
