This is an out-of-the-way trail, meant for those who are more dedicated to hiking and want to enjoy a quieter, less frequented trail. There are a lot of steep hills, rugged terrain, and loose dogs (though all of those I have met so far are well behaved). It's a trail that will provide you with constant change in scenery if you're willing to work for it. Finally, an ultimate reward for those who put in the effort; a myriad of berries and edible plants at the higher points of the trail. Great hike with great views! Make sure to bring bear spray. Take the Summit Trail, not the Creek Trail, which really is just for snowmachines in the winter. It's too muddy in the summer. The Dome is 3.1 miles from the trailhead. The trail system winds for many many miles beyond that. Too much for a day hike. Tourist place .
