Had a fight between my dogs and one was injured requiring stitches. This place opened as soon as I got there and took care of her quickly and professionally. Thanks so much Very caring and knowledgeable. She had my dog fixed up in no time This is sort of a two part review as I am speaking on behalf of two separate visits, with two very different outcomes. My first visit was the day before thanksgiving, in the middle of a heavy snowstorm in the middle of the night. My sweet boy was in shock and in the process of passing away. I was so hysterical and crying so hard my husband called the after hours clinic and we drove through the storm to race against the inevitable end. He had passed away before we could get there and I had never cried so hard in my life when we arrived. The staff greeted us warmly and empathetically and spoke soft words of encouragement to me. My husband did all the paperwork while I laid with him on the floor petting his head and telling him what a good boy he was. They provided us with the options for private cremation and were very professional and with his ashes we received a sympathy card for his loss which meant the world to me. The second story is much less depressing and had a much better ending. My 7 month old golden mix went on his first camping trip with us over fathers day weekend. While playing by the river he cut an artery in his foot and after applying several compression bandages we raced to find the nearest vet at 5pm (when everywhere else is closed). I read the review for the after hours clinic and only saw the poor lady who had the terrible experience and was terrified to take him there. So I called my vet who's technician reassured me to go to the after hours clinic and that they were the safest bet for my situation. So we arrived and both the technitian and the doctor were very diligent in getting him into surgery. The price we paid for the after hours fee (before of course all the other normal care and surgery costs) was 140$; which in an emergency is worth it to save his limb. The doctor was very focused and was a no nonsense kind of woman who is very knowledgeable and focused on keeping the animals in as little distress as possible. He was in and out in about 20 minutes total with 13 stitches and a clear list of instructions with medications. I know she may seem as though she may be more stern which might be distressing to some who are fearing for their loved ones lives... but from my personal experience, she is knowledgeable and is a no-nonsense kind of doctor. Do not confuse her focus for apathy, she really does seem to want the best for the pets. I feel sorry for the lady who had such a terrible experience and I know no amount of stranger love will help ease the pain but please know that I am truly sorry for your loss. Completely uncaring and impersonal service, was not even willing to offer support to stabilize our dog after a tramatic injury with out having an exorbitant amount of money up front. Lost an important member of our family today, and all that mattered to them were the benjamins. Please, don't take your animal here. Would give them a 0 if possible.
