I had high expectations from Geek City when I first walked into their establishment; lots of inventory on the shelves and saw customers browsing the store. Now I question the technical and customer service capacity. I turned in a Dell laptop for trouble shooting and repair about 8-10 WEEKS ago as of this review. I never received a phone call/progress calls whatsoever. Within that time frame, I kept calling about the status of my computer. At first, I was told the RAM needed to be replaced and now the diagnosis changed to "the hard drive is bad" (after having the computer for over 2 months???). NOW I'M TOLD IT'S CHEAPER TO BUY A NEW LAPTOP! I can get a better diagnosis from the local high school kid. This experience is too much for me NOT to share. I do not recommend Geek City. They have not delivered my laptop back to me. ---UPDATE---25 July 2017 Sorry Geek City, my laptop was NEVER returned and contact was never made on the dates claimed by Geek City. Geek City replied to the wrong reviewer/customer. The events/interactions did not take place as outlined in the Geek City reply. I would have signed the pick up invoice on a high dollar electronic device. Plus, proper business protocol would not have allowed me to walk out with a laptop without custodial accountability and documentation. Please send me a copy of the signed pick up receipt if I, in fact, picked up my laptop, unless the laptop was delivered to someone else other than its rightful owner. Our computer crashed with only a few days left prior to a deployment and I had a lot of work files on the hard drive. I brought it into Geek City thinking it was a long shot to recover that information in such a short time. After advising me that the repair cost wouldn't be worth it for such an old machine (which was fine, I just wanted the data), the guys cracked open my old computer, pulled my hard drive, and set me up with an external enclosure. They even tested it on a Mac to ensure my new computer would be able to pull files off the drive. All this in about 15 minutes and at only the price of the enclosure. Great, fast, friendly, knowledgeable service! I'll definitely be back for any future computer needs! Brad and Ben are the perfect example of what customer service is suppose to be. I felt like I was being taking good care of by a family member. They're very knowledgeable about products and troubleshooting. I left there without a worry. Geek City are the go guys and I highly recommend them to anyone that wants high quality service! Good place. Wish they served nachos. My computer could not find my second hard drive, and they fixed it within 15 minutes for free. They are extremely knowledgeable and helpful!
