Never in 15 years of paying utilities have I had to put down a deposit. They also wanted a "records" fee when I moved to New location within the same city and asked for another deposit only because I haven't had service with them for at least a year. Well what happened to my records when I paid at my previos location? This is what happens when a company has a monopoly in a business or location... Horrible horrible job! Do not recommend them at all! They deserve to be SHUT DOWN! Came on our property without our permission and cut down one of our trees COMPLETELY without consulting us (because of power a power line issue, THE TREE HAD 7 YEARS UNTIL IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM) and they left a huge mess and it's just an absolutely disgusting sad mess. I'm so upset. They even ripped up our grass. Just bought this house too. This company makes me sick. THEY DONT EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR Thank you all for your hard work, working days and nights to try and keep power going for everyone :) Golden Valley Electric Association has left our family homeless for 2 months with unreliable and lazy action and miscommunications. Our 9 year old daughter is forced to sleep on the floor. Why have we, the customer, been required to complete their jobs for them by checking power and relaying messages to realtors and appraisers? This is a bad business that customers aren't able to take their business elsewhere. They are not professional or reliable. Thank you for being wonderful and for working out there in the dark cold night. We have heat because of those hard workers. Be safe and know we are grateful.
