Every time I go in something else goes wrong... got a complimentary car detail. Returned with scratches (some deep) all over as if they took a rag with dirt and small rocks and wiped it. Never got a call or survey asking how I likes it!!! Guess they knew why. Parts department is wonderful. But other than that, taking your vehicle there is at your own risk. I think this has to be the worst run Subaru dealership. Traveling from out of the state I needed some help with tires and questions about my 2016 Forester. I called the dealership around 10 am and was told all the service advisor were busy. When I called back at 2pm the lady that answered the phone told me no one available to speak with including the General Manager and Service Manager. I asked her if anyone was free and she told me she did not know since she was not at the dealer. They must use a call center to answer the phone. I then drove to the dealership and went to the service department and the first guy in bay 2 was extremely rude. When I asked if they had tires to fit the Forester he response was I had to find the parts department to ask and see what they could do. I guess you need to go to the parts department first to buy all you part then maybe they will get installed. The gentleman in the parts area was extremely helpful in working with me. He told me that they would not have tires for my car for 5 days. I had some follow up questions and he did his best to answer them. Once he could not he turned he over to Dave I think was his name. He was amazing and helpful answering all the questions that I had about my Forester. I was really concerned that there was a major problem with the way the tires were looking. While I was talking to the parts guy and Dave the gentleman sitting in the service managers officer heard part of the conversation and once looked at me and never even came up to me to ask if there was anything he could do to help. I would say that this dealer needs to hire more people like Dave and the guy in the parts area. It would probably also help to have an onside receptionist that know about the dealer and who works there. I guess they don't have any competition in Fairbanks and don't have to worry about customer service or satisfaction. I just wanted to inform you of my extreme dissatisfaction with Kendall Subaru of Fairbanks. My door jam was hitting my frame and I received a $149.50 "diagnosing fee". I believe this to be a fraudulent fee because nothing was done to my car except drive it. I was the one driving before hearing the fault and after it and identifying there was a fault. The service technician preformed a "door and striker adjustment" which doesn't even align the door 100% to the position of the other doors. I would imagine this would be covered under my warranty, but they assured me it is not because it could have been something jammed in the door, which it was not. I'm writing this review to you now because you are 0/5 for responding when I leave a message. This is not my first experience with poor service. I've had my car in for service that was supposed to be in for 30 minutes and I had to call more that 9 hours later to be told it had just finished up. I also was charged about $80 for asking them to investigate a rumbling noise that occurs when I would drive on slushy snow; which that noise still was around during breakup, I just don't want to be charged again for getting it checked out. Out of my five services only one was a good experience with a packet to show detailed information about how my car was doing, which was a standard I expected from having a Mazda. Honestly, dealing with Kendall I'll likely never buy a Subaru after this so might as well get your money while you can.. I wanted to update my review more than 9 months later. I had a full diagnosis done, which was awesome. They gave me a nice packet showing everything about my car. They identified one issue: the cabin air filter and said it was the wrong type. Rather than replace it, they just removed it. Not replaced. They didn't even tell me if I had an option to replace it. I had to figure out that they just pulled it out and didn't replace it a few days later. I also saw the service technicians driving my car around the parking lot like it was a racetrack. I tried to contact the service manager on Friday, Saturday and Monday and they were never in to receive my call. I went to Subaru because my current car couldn’t make it up our road to our house with the snow, even with snow tires. I didn’t believe I would be able to get a new car as I owed more for my car than it was worth. Subaru worked with me and I was able to leave with a 2018 Subaru Impreza with a seriously lower interest rate than my current car. Everyone was very friendly and very impormative. I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend Subaru of Fairbanks I recently bought a Subaru Outback from Kendall in Fairbanks and I found the experience pleasant and hassle free. Definitely the best car buying experience I've had. Mike was easy going and knowledgeable about the car. Jaclyn was extremely helpful with financial transaction. I felt no pressure and I am completely satisfied with the car and price
