Service department is is extremely slow took 3 weeks for an appointment for a oil change. Was told I could try walk-in but was pretty much told that I would have to wait multiple hrs but went with the appointment an still have waited almost 2 hrs for my vehicle to be done. I even called around to the other dealerships an was told I could get in same day but I really like Toyota up until this appointment I would not recommend this for anyone to get routine maintenance an if it hadn't been free from the Toyota care plan I would not have came here also recently bought a vehicle here from the Subaru side of the house the sales agent didn't know how to set everything up I ended up googling it when I got home since my wife did the initial setup with the salesman an it's intended to be her vehicle also still waiting on the call from Toyota about the 4Runner I had some questions about I tend to go through vehicles 1 or 2 times a year my last4 vehicles have all been Toyota can't get enough of them but Kendall Toyota has ruined that Would NOT recommend this place also the finance department is absolutely the slowest I have ever dealt with John Duval has been great to work with in the service department. He is honest and works hard to get the job done right. Update: John Duval did another great job. And Kaylee (sorry if I messed up her name spelling) was super helpful with our rental. A great group of people who give it to us straight and works with us to get all our vehicles safe and in good condition. Our family really appreciates your entire team!! I had called to make an appointment and explained vibration in my vehicle. The scheduling person suggested I do a walk in, so I did. I was there for 2 hours and they said I would need to make an appointment and come back later. It took 2 weeks to schedule me to come back. On the day of my appointment, I arrived 30 minutes early. I explained major vibration when reaching speeds between 25-55 mph. 4 hours after my vehicle went into the back, they told me they could not determine why my truck was vibrating. They recommended a balance of my tires so I agreed. Once balancing was complete, I went to pay and they charged me $252. Two weeks later, my truck started to vibrate violently. I figured they really didn't know what they were doing, so I am taking my truck to someone who does. It is quite a bummer there are no good mechanics in Fairbanks. Too many of them prefer to take short cuts which is why I try to do all of my basic maintenance myself. Good service department. Did not perform unnecessary repairs even though insurance covered them. Did not charge to diagnose damage either. I scheduled an appointment to have my Toyota Prius worked on two weeks in advance. I dropped my vehicle off in the afternoon, one day prior to my appointment the next morning. My service rep was David. I waited nearly 10 min. before I could even give him my keys. He didn't seem very well versed about my vehicle, but no problem, he was not the one who was going to be working on my car anyway. I followed up the next day about 4 PM, as I had not heard anything. They were doing a simple one-hour repair, so figured it should be done. David was not available to speak with, but was due back in 20 min. and Kathy, the person who answered the phone, said "he would be sure to get back to me". I did not receive a call that day. I followed up the next day at about the same time, and once again Kathy said David was not available, but he would get back to me. They did eventually get back to me claiming there were 19 vehicles in front of me. It just seems like poor management to me. I would certainly understand if I was doing a walk-in, but the appointment was booked two weeks in advance, and they had ample time to prepare. I was charge nearly $165 for something that took less than an hour. They charge $145 an hour and then claimed the rest was for "shop supplies", although I'm not sure what shop supplies were involved with what they were doing for me. I supplied the parts, and no additional materials were required. Maybe a plastic bag to cover the drivers seat! Just a way to squeeze a few more dollars out of the consumer. I don't really find these people to be honest. For example, I was told my cabin air filter and engine air filter were dirty. I personally changed the cabin filter one day prior to dropping the vehicle off, and also inspected the engine air filter. Both were fine and NOT dirty. Mostly they act as salesman. Not impressed, and not recommended. I think I will head over to Metropolitan next time.
